* Grounding Your Faith Course/Trail Life Badge was created specifically for Trail Life trainmen by Steven Garofalo when he was Assistant Chaplain of Trail Life Troop NC-0413 in Matthews, NC from 2018-2025
* His son Zacharia was awarded the "Freedom Award" in the spring of 2025.
* Steven Garofalo M.A. Apologetics, a seminary trained, ordained minister, founder of EquippedAcademy.com, ReasonForTruth.Org and Assistant Chaplain at Trail Life Troop 0413NC in Matthews, NC.
* The “Grounding Your Faith” is more than a badge and a course-it’s a learning experience designed specifically as a "Trail Life elective badge" to form and equip young men to prevail in the cultural and spiritual battle for their faith in a culture bent on taking that from them.
* Was specifically designed and formatted as an elective spiritual/Bible study/apologetics badge according to the stringent requirements outlined by Trail Life guidelines for an elective badge.
* Grounding Your Faith can also be applied towards the Worthy Life requirement as a Bible or group study.
KEY ELEMENTS MEETING TRAIL LIFE ELECTIVE BADGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
1) Book reading (Read the first half/five chapters in EQUIPPED: Basic Training In Apologetics For Evangelism).
2) Watching Online-training videos.
3) Completion of Five Quizzes.
4) Each Trailman is to PRESENT (using PowerPoint, Keynote, or Notes) a short 5-10 minute presentation in front of other trailmen.
5) And finally, each trailman must complete a "Reflection paper" which is a simple one page paper from the heart and mind regarding one thing they learned.
